I use it for work, it’s small enough to fit in my gear bag and has a great sight picture.
Clear glass in a great form factor. Still works at the right angle with my sun glasses. Low vision friendly.
I like the product, compact, clear and handy
The power is just right and pretty clear (better than I expected for certain). So far the waterproof sealing and coatings have worked fine. The size and weight are great. It focuses quite close (much better than my previous Pentax binoculars) and isn't really picky focus wise (meaning the lens elements are not such that constant focusing is necessary). Perfectly adequate and then some for bird watching and so many other pursuits. The balance of price and performance is perfect.
I love this brand. Quality at a reasonable price and great customer service. I accidentally bought this model for my father in-law. I prefer one size up and I use a belt clip. This one is actually small enough to fit in the carpenter pocket of most hiking pants or wear around your neck. If compact is your number 1 priority, this is for you.
I'm happy to save the $$ on the smaller model and will buy a couple more.
This monocular is small, functional and durable. I've used it extensively since receiving it from amazon. It's multi coated lense doesn't fog up and is crystal clear. I recommend getting the 10x for it's light gathering capability but I'm sure the 8x functions well also. It's also ergonomically designed and can in fact be easily adjusted using only one hand. It feels right in the hand and the carrying strap is perfect for any bow hunter who intends to wear this monocular while shooting, it doesn't get in the way of the string and is of no concern, allowing me to focus on the my shot while hunting. I've also crawled around while bow hunting in sand and grit with this Vortex monocular and it cleaned up amazingly well some sand and grit did get in the adjustment ring but after it dried up I simply blew it away. I've permanently attached the carrying case to my fanny pack and intend to take the monocular on all my hunting and scouting adventures.
This is great to keep in my work vehicle and really is a great deal for the money.
This was a great buy. I use it to spot groundhogs in a horse pasture at up to 200 yards, and it works well and stows easily
Solid build...feels good in the hand...focus good also....worth the money over the cheap ones.... Waterproof also....recommend
I have been using optical devices (rifle scopes, camera lens etc) for over 40 years so I have a good deal of experience with gadgets like this. Having paid more than $2000.00 for rifle scopes and pricey German camera optics, I find nothing wrong with this little scope. Time will tell if it wears well.
I own several monoculars of various strength, sizes and price points. I use them recreationally as well as on the job as a LEO. After attempting to use one to gather some information and not being able to quite see all that was needed I began looking for a better scope. I had just purchased a Vortex red dot so decided to give this monocular a try. Ding Ding Ding!!! We have a winner. I will say the clarity thru this is impressive but what really did it for me was at night. From 90 yds away I was able to clearly see activity under street lights. It is a little larger than most monoculars but with the bonus of superior clarity it's fine with me !
This monocular works much better than I expected. I use it for looking at targets on a pistol/rifle range, and can easily see holes in the paper at 50 yards, sometimes out to 75 yards. It is so small it can be hidden in the hand if for some reason that would be necessary.
This is a great little monocular to fit in your pocket for a short walk, just in case you see something. I know some reviews complained about the focusing element, but mine focuses just fine. You do have to use both hands to hold and focus, but it isn't stiff and the focusing element moves smoothly.
That is you have to see through it to appreciate it. I was pleasantly surprised at the simplicity of this little scope. A quick summation should suffice: The optical clarity is excellent all through the zoom range. There is always something better, but if it works well who cares? The field of view is more than sufficient at the longest range. It is easy to hold without losing sight of the target image, especially if you can lean against something for support. Unlike binoculars it is quick to pull out and start using it.
For $50 you can't beat these. Brightness and clarity compare very well with my $500 vortex viper HD binoculars. The lightness and size of this monocular does mean that it is difficult to hold it really still, especially with the 10 power unit. But for quick viewing it is perfectly adequate and so much better than the "cheap" monoculars on Amazon. I tried one of those that was supposedly up to 40 power (it was a deal at $29, regular price $91,) but was about 6 power and felt like a kid's toy that was worth about $5. That one went straight back and I went with one from Vortex, a top quality maker of optical equipment, and they did not disappoint.
if you are in the market for a monocular,, this seems like "the" item . I have to hold it against a post to steady the view when looking at 22.cal holes at 25 yards, but I CAN see them. So it can replace a more expensive and cumbersome spotting scope at that range. The rear adjustment is a focus ring that i have to turn a moderate amount when shifting from 10 yards to 25. Glad I bought this, very happy with it.
The size is the best. This monocular come with a caring case that attaches to the shoulder straps of my backpack. They work just as good as binoculars for hunting.
Great for sail charters here in Tampa Bay. Compact size and rugged construction are better than I thought they would be. Fits in a small pack easily and handles wet conditions with ease. Easy to focus and images are sharp and clear.
Excellent. I have the 10x25 model it is pretty clear for 100-200 yards but any further gets a little blurry but great for a bow or turkey hunter who needs some small glass for checking out stuff at a distance. I used it while scouting deer but if you will be using it as a main tool for scouting buy binos instead. ( that picture of the deer was about 75 yards if I remember correctly)
very works a lot better then i expected it is light fits in my pack with out all the weight . not like binoculars.
Purchased this monocular to attach to a phone skope kit. Worked great. Light, small and clear.
These fit nicely in your pocket and are great for hiking or just sight seeing. The optics seem really good with a very clear image. I really recommend them.
I did not expect to like this much, but the other reviews suggested I would so I took a chance. Can't beat this for the money and for how small it is. No reason not to keep this in your pack.
Wonderful product compact, great for walk with it, lets make a nice observation, excellent Product!!!!
Great product, recommend! Product in perfect condition and arrived in pates time!
As an amateur photographer for 40+ years, and an owner of many Nikon lenses as well as an excellent Nikon binocular, I value lens quality. I was pleasantly surprised by the view from this monocular. It has a crisp, clean image I would expect from higher end optics. It appears well made and has a very solid feel to it. The focus ring may be too stiff for some, but I consider that an advantage if you view single areas frequently, such as watching bird nests or game trails, etc.. Focus stays exactly where you want it. The retractable extension for those wearing glasses is a plus. Just a simple twist and the eyepiece extends or retracts for eyeglass wearers.
Very happy. I considered paying twice as much for the larger lens (36mm) but I'm glad I did not. The brightness on this device is great. Magnification is crazy good too. I can see wildlife on the water at 150 yards in perfect detail (couple of otters moved into the lake behind our house). I don't have a problem steadying it with one hand. The focus ring adjustment works very well. It's resistant enough to prevent it from being jostled out of focus but not too tight to adjust. Eye relief is also great, the eyepiece has two settings, closed or extended with a positive "click" holding either selection in place. Build quality feels top notch and yet it's surprisingly light in the hand. Included soft sided carry case with velcro closure, cleaning cloth and neck lanyard.
Is awesome. Small. Having a small 10x monoc is definitely better than having my 8x binocs in my pocket. Takes up way less inventory in my pocket. Focusing dial works well. Eye piece extender works well. I like it. Especially how small it is. Clarity is very good too. Have not tested it getting wet though. Will happen sooner or later on the Mtn bike...haha. oh yeh, the case blows. It is a soft case. Case does not seal/close. Soft cases r fine. They just need to b able to open and close. There is literally a slit in the case that u slide the monoc in and out of. It being a monoc u want the lenses to b as particle free as possible.
Bought this for my trip to Alaska. It’s quite functional. Size is nice. And looks good. Highly recommend it.
I wanted a small monocle-style for some hiking out west. This was perfect. Glass is clear and the image is always sharp. It's very light and stores easily in a pack or bag...even in your pocket. It's comfortable to hold and doesn't slip when it's wet. Really nice piece of work.
Much better then what I have expected. I like the grip, very good material and ergonomic shape.
I use this product almost daily in law enforcement. It’s, clear picture and easy one handed use make for easy multitasking when observing while taking notes or using the radio. Of course part of my rating is also attributed to its rugged design and durability. On several occasions I had to throw it on the floorboard or toss it in my patrol bag, after which the same attributes listed above where in the same condition as when the product came out of the box.
Excellent for using while on a walk or in the car because of it's size. Fits perfect in your hand. Lightweight and solid quality.
The is a great addition for lite travel.
Very clear. Used in the Smoky Mountains of TN and I'll use this hunting season. Well worth the money.
Good portable size, I use them on a golf course and they work great, very easy to use and clear view, only thing just like many reviews wish it had lens caps, but otherwise I’d buy them again.
A great value for such a first-rate piece of equipment - Love it!
It is very well designed with ease of use and regard for the fact that it is going to be used in challenging environments. Great grip, nothing protrudes unnecessarily and it performs extremely well in a variety of lighting conditions - including low-light.
